Sofia Flores (She/Her) is a civil and environmental engineering undergraduate student at UC Davis. Her interest in bioremediation and hazard mitigation led her to join the Pena lab where she has been helping as a research assistant since Fall 2023. In the Pena lab she assisted with lab work relating to manganese oxidation for remediation of a contaminated site. Sofia plans on working in the industry as a water resources engineer but hopes to continue to a masters program in the environmental department with an emphasis on bioremediation in the near future.
