Konane (she/her) is an undergraduate Environmental Engineering at UC Davis. After two years of studying physics, research experience on microbial plastic degradation in Dr. Maureen Kinyua’s lab influenced her switch to environmental engineering. Konane’s interests span a wide range of environmental engineering, biology, sustainability, and chemistry topics. She currently assists with chemical and microbial assays and most recently is contributing to research on bacterial bio-reporters. Konane will continue her work in the Environmental and Molecular Biogeochemistry Group through the end of 2021 and hopes to begin graduate school in Fall 2022.
