Bio

Kyounglim Kang is a postdoctoral fellow in the Environmental and Molecular Biogeochemistry at University of California, Davis. She completed her M.Sc. in the Department of Civil and Environmental engineering at Korea University and her PhD in the Department of Environmental Geosciences at the University of Vienna. During her PhD, she investigated the mechanisms of biological iron acquisition with respect to the synergistic effects of redox processes and ligand-controlled dissolution of iron (hydr)oxide phases. At UC Davis, she investigates geochemical behavior of aqueous Mn(III) species in soil and aquatic environments. She is the recipient of a Schroedinger Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Austrian Science Fund.
